I have lived in West Melbourne since 2013 and am a US Navy Veteran, Retired Police Officer and am a Fiscal Conservative. I have always fought to keep our community safe while maintaining manageable growth that fits into our city's future economic development

About John

Goals

To work with Brevard County and Brevard Schools to come up with a solution to alleviate the increased traffic on Minton Rd and Hollywood Blvd

To address the foul odor from the sewer plant by coming up with the funds to fix the source of the problem

To ensure the remaining build out of West Melbourne fits with the existing comprehensive plan

Achievements

2017 When a City Council member requested I intervene in a planned school redistricting- I worked with eight HOA's and was successful in stopping it

2018 I was selected by unanimous appointment by the Council to fill an open council seat and was elected that year

2019 & 2020 I was appointed Deputy Mayor by the Council and started to take on the water delivery and quality issues which lead to the vote to build our new water plant

2021 In response to numerous vehicle burglaries by minors from outside the city, I proposed and help implement a curfew ordinance to help police reduce overnight criminal activity

2022 I participated in a forum regarding Homeowners Insurance and made reform recommendations to the Legislature and I was re-elected for another term as City Council member

2024 I intervened in a project at Heritage Oaks where an out of the area contractor was attempting to use the Live Local Act to build a three-story apartment complex a few feet away from the Woodfield HOA. I then became the witness in the case and helped Brevard County win a lawsuit that had been filed by the contractor
